Choosing the Best Home Security System for your House

Home Security helps you protect your investments.

You’re making a huge investment in a home and the belongings you fill it with, so why not protect that investment and enhance your lifestyle at the same time. Here are three highly rated, innovative smart home security systems you can get in your new home when you move in. These home security systems not only protect you and your home, but also have automation and security features that will make your day to day life in and out of the home easier than you could ever imagine. Whether you want basic security or fully automated home security, there’s something for everyone here.

Simpli Safe Equipment Home Security
SimpliSafe Home Security System

If you want a simple (yes, it’s in the name) solution to your home security needs with no contract and minimal monthly cost, look no further than SimpliSafe. While a system like this won’t give you the best of the best bells and whistles to fully automate your home, it will give you a handful of equipment that’s easy to install to suit your needs.

For just over $250, you’ll get window sensors, an alarm keypad, a portable remote to arm/disarm your system when you have a full load and need to get into your armed home, a “home base”, and a motion sensor. This base package will cover the ground floor major entry ways of most single family homes, but you can always spend a little to get a little more. The name says all you need to know about this system: simple and safe. One thing to note about the SimpliSafe Equipment is it doesn’t connect with third party devices, so keep that in mind before you try to buy this as an add-on to your current camera or security system.

Live Watch IQ Home SecurityLiveWatch Plug and Protect IQ 2.0

LiveWatch not only gives you the basic equipment (door sensors, touch screen control panel, keychain remote, yard signs, 24/7 monitoring, mobile app for system control), but it also gives you options depending on how much control you want.

Basic Plan: At $29.95 per month, you’ll get 24/7 monitoring through their centralized service which sends alerts any time an alarm is triggered. You can take care of any false alarms through your phone or tablet if you need to before police or fire departments are contacted.

Mobile Pro Plan: At $34.95 per month, you’ll get everything in the Basic Plan plus the ability to arm/disarm your system remotely and also communicate to your system through voice commands.

Total Home Plan: At $39.95 per month, you’ll get the Mobile Pro Plan plus the ability to automate your camera to take photo snap shots when motion occurs, get real time alerts when windows/doors are left open, see daily activities, and more automation options.

Total Home + Video Plan: Their top of the line plan is $49.95 per month. The biggest addition in this plan is the ability to record and stream live video off of your system.

Whether you want to just monitor your home and have peace of mind when you leave or you want close to full control of your home, LiveWatch has the answer for you. This is a great option to have video and automation but not break the bank.

Digital Life Home SecurityAT&T Digital Life

For those who want the ability to have security and control (almost) all of their homes, well this one’s for you. AT&T Digital Life also has three levels of security depending on needs.

Smart Security: This will cost you $29.99 per month and gets you 24/7 monitoring, access to an app to control your system, and door/window sensors for your safety at home.

Smart Security and Automation: They price this package at $54.99 per month. While this is a big jump in monthly cost, the addition in automation features is worth the price. In addition to everything in Smart Security, you’ll also get their “camera package” and “door package”. With the door package, you’ll get a front door lock with either raised buttons or a touch screen that let you access your door with a code and lock it by pressing any buttons. You can even program multiple codes that expire after a certain amount of time so you know when the babysitter, dog walker, or family in town comes and goes. With the “camera package”, you can have up to 8 cameras in your home that can both stream and record live videos.

Premium Security and Automation: At $64.99 per month, you’ll get everything listed above plus add-ons for thermostat control, light control, water detection, and water shut-off. All of which can be automated as well.

As you can see, there’s something out there for every price range and every want/desire you could have as a home-owner. Keep these in mind as you prepare to move into your new home. Most security providers offer excellent incentives for signing up for new service, so ask about their sales and most importantly get the system that’s the right fit for you and your family.
